CEO Water Mandate Welcomes Water Stewardship Pioneer George Schuler as New Deputy Head

The Pacific Institute is proud to announce George Schuler has joined the organization as the new Deputy Head of the CEO Water Mandate. In this role, Schuler will drive future strategies of CEO Water Mandate to significantly advance progress on SDG 6 through corporate action during the years ahead.


With nearly three decades of experience in water sustainability and management, Schuler is uniquely qualified to lead and expand the CEO Water Mandate and the Water Resilience Coalition.

In a compelling episode of the PBS News Hour series on climate change and water, "Tipping Point," Dr. Peter Gleick, Pacific Institute Senior Fellow and Co-Founder sheds light on the critical state of the Ogallala Aquifer. As we witness significant depletion in vital water reservoirs across the U.S., notably in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, the call for sustainable water management becomes increasingly urgent.

Shannon Spurlock to Present at WateReuse Arizona Symposium

This month, Pacific Institute Senior Researcher of Public Policy & Practice Uptake Shannon Spurlock will present at the WateReuse Arizona Symposium.


Her session, “Fostering Leadership and Collaboration to Scale Regional Water Reuse Solutions,” will take place on July 29. This session is co-convened with Rick Warner from Jacobs, John Kmiec from Tucson Water, and Troy Hayes from the City of Phoenix.

Dr. Bruk Berhanu to Present at the 2024 Alliance for Water Efficiency Symposium 

On August 8, Pacific Institute Senior Researcher Dr. Bruk Berhanu will present at the annual Alliance for Water Efficiency Annual Symposium in Chicago, Illinois.


His session, “Untapped Potential: A National Assessment of the Potential for Urban Water Efficiency” will highlight a recent Pacific Institute report that found U.S. urban areas collectively have the potential to generate 59.5 million acre-feet of stormwater annually, on average.
