After VCHS, Cooper received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Christian University and a MS in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from The University of Colorado, Boulder. He was also a Fulbright Scholar in Switzerland. Today, he is a Mechanical Design Engineer for Lockheed Martin.
What impresses me most about Cooper is that his Christian faith is the driver for his work and life. Cooper explains it this way-
My greatest passion is that of exploration, whether it be designing a spacecraft that will return Martian samples to Earth or standing upon a remote summit in the Swiss Alps. I seek out these intricate, complex challenges, equipping myself with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in such endeavors. My faith drives me to become better at everything I do, striving to lead and serve through humility in every opportunity. As a life-long learner, I am motivated by an unquenchable intellectual curiosity and a deep appreciation for the process. After all, my favorite part of a climb isn't the summit, but the ascent.
More On The Menu’s will follow as we have alumni share career stories and life lessons with our students. We have a rich alumni network doing amazing things here in the valley and around the globe, and we want to connect our students to all of that talent.
With the On The Menu: Lunch and Learn Series, I look forward to seeing students inspired by our alumni and see themselves connected to a larger VCHS family. I also believe deep learning takes place when high school students encounter real-life examples, especially from those who continue to call themselves Saints.
VCHS…Family Forever!
