BC CHAMBER WEEK
As we celebrate B.C. Chamber of Commerce Week, it’s important to remember the critical role our chamber of commerce plays in our community. We have a connection to nearly 100 other chambers of commerce and boards of trade that make up a strong network across B.C. Together, we represent more than 36,000 businesses of every size and from every region of the province. We are proud to be part of an established and powerful voice.
Membership Renewal 2023
Dear Chamber Members

First and foremost, we want to thank you for your continued investment with Ladysmith Chamber of Commerce and to everyone who has already renewed their 2023 Membership! Without your loyalty and support, we would not be able to continuously provide our members with valuable benefits and actively support our business community. Put simply, you make what we do possible.

This past year, your membership has enabled us to accomplish so many initiatives. Here are some of the highlights:

  1. We were able secure a Tier 2 membership with the BC Chamber of Commerce which allows us elevated opportunities to be involved in Government roundtables, opportunities to be involved in BC Chamber initiatives and support with Grant opportunities, promotional opportunities and more.
  2. We held our First "Memorial" Golf Classic in honor of Larry Ingram, respected employee of one of our members and finished our year with a sold out Christmas Social.
  3. We developed the Locals Love Ladysmith social media initiative utilizing Facebook, Instagram and TikTok and were successful in receiving an Indigenous Learning Grant through Destination BC working with Stz’uminus First Nation.

Don’t miss out on 2023, we have an eventful and exciting year planned!

We hope you’ve been able to personally benefit from your membership with Ladysmith Chamber of Commerce. If not, let us fix that right away! Call Millie Stirling at 250-245-2112, or send her an email to see how we may better meet your needs.

If, like most of our members, you are satisfied with your membership, consider renewing now. Your renewal will help us plan for this year’s programming. If you require an invoice for your renewal, please send us an email and we would be happy to provide one. Make sure to let us know if you have any suggestions. We’d love to hear your feedback!
Please renew by: March 31 2023

BC Chamber of Commerce Launches Initiative to Address Acute Workforce Challenges
The BC Chamber of Commerce (BC Chamber) has launched a new two-phase initiative that will address British Columbia’s acute workforce challenges and help build labour force capacity and resiliency.

Funded by the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction, the work will be undertaken in two phases through to January 2024.

Phase 1 of the initiative kicks off with the launch of the “Addressing the Labour Market Gap” survey that will seek to understand the needs of employers and job seekers. During Phase 2, the BC Chamber will undertake community engagement activities in each of the seven economic regions of the province to identify appropriate solutions to the data findings.

The Addressing the Labour Market Gap Survey is now LIVE!
Job seekers and employers are encouraged to take the survey and inform future program and public policy decisions in BC (~10 min)
