Dear FMCS Stakeholders,

We hope you're looking forward to an enjoyable, active summer with plenty of fun activities planned. At The Arc Central Chesapeake Region, we have some plans to share as well.

The Arc is updating the way our participants manage their self-directed services. It's called the FMS Engine, or FMSE, and we believe it will give people better control over their services. As you know, self-direction programs are designed to be flexible and person-centered. That flexibility comes with rules, checks, and balances. This combination makes the program tick!

How will it all work? Here's a preview.

Meet FMS Engine!

The Arc's new FMS Engine is online software that assists participants and their teams with managing budgets, making payments, and much more. The software's built-in automation minimizes manual processes, making it easier to use. It also gives people who choose to self-direct more control and easier access to their data.

Why Should I Use the FMS Engine?

When you choose to self-direct, you experience greater autonomy and accept more responsibility. FMSE acts like a personal assistant to ensure things get done right. Here are some of the benefits:

The participant dashboard is easy to read and shows real-time spending information.
The system automatically links your payments to your budget.
Automated employee onboarding is available through a self-service portal.
Your team has access to electronic timekeeping ensuring state-required EVV compliance.
It's HIPAA-compliant and secure.
You can use it anywhere there's an internet connection.
