Board of Education Work Session Update

During the Tuesday, January 23 Board of Education work session, the District engaged in an important discussion with the board regarding the acceleration of Segment 1 of the long-term facilities plan. Following this discussion, the District is proceeding with an accelerated timeline. This important discussion can be viewed here.

What does an accelerated timeline mean?

  • Woodbury Elementary School will close after the conclusion of summer programming in 2024.
  • Current fourth grade students will remain in their elementary school building for Grade 5.
  • Current fifth, sixth and seventh grade students will attend the 2024-2025 school year at the current Middle School building.
  • The Woodbury site will be available for pre-construction work, demolition and the beginning of renovation as early as fall of 2024.

The District is already working on planning for the many details that are necessary to ensure the execution of this project maintains the high standards we have set for our students’ educational experience during this exciting and important time for our school District.

The District will be hosting engagement and information opportunities as we proceed through the planning process, including recurring webinars. The first of these webinars will be on Monday, January 29, at 12 p.m. (noon). You may join the webinar through this link: https://shaker.zoom.us/j/94915057006. This webinar also will be recorded and shared.
