A New Day in North Georgia!

As we begin 2024, Bishop Robin Dease checks in with North Georgia United Methodists. She shares updates on the year ahead.

Welcome Rev. Andy!

We are delighted to welcome our new Associate Pastor Rev. Andy Peabody to Saint Mark. For more information about Rev. Andy, please check out the Clergy and Staff page on our website.

What’s Your Name?

To help our new Associate Pastor Rev. Andy Peabody get to know us better -please remember to wear your nametag. If you do not have a nametag, contact Robert Gilleo at rjgilleo@stmarkumc.org so that he can create one for you. Nametags are stored in alphabetical order in the cabinet in the narthex. If you don’t have a nametag to wear today, look for temporary blank ones in the narthex (ask an usher for assistance).

January’s Communion Offering

This past Sunday's Communion offering went to support the United Methodist Dollars for Scholars program. The United Methodist Dollars for Scholars (UMDFS) program involves matching support from a student’s church, the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation (UMHEF), as well as participating United Methodist-related schools and UMC conference foundations. At Saint Mark, we have two Young Adults at LaGrange College who depend on our funding via the United Methodist Dollars for Scholars program.

You can contribute online if you still wish to give.

Meet Rev. Andy Peabody

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining"!

The Disciple Fast Track New Testament Bible Study Class will begin Wednesday January 17th at 6:30 PM right after Wednesday Night Dinner Please contact Buddy Wofford at 404-862-0030 or prinnovate@aol.com to join, The Study Guides are $17 and you can pay Buddy.

Disciple Bible Study—Year 2

Disciple 2 Fast Track Bible Study is a 24-week in-depth review of Genesis/Exodus and Luke/Acts. The study comprises 15 to 30 minutes a day of bible reading and dynamic group discussions during the weekly meetings. This study will immerse you in 4 important books of the Bible and will enhance your spiritual journey as a disciple of Christ. Please note that it is not necessary to take Disciple 1 prior to taking Disciple 2.

We are organizing a new class that will meet 12 times this spring and 12 times in the fall. We are considering several times for the class…

1)  During the Sunday School hour

2)  After the Wednesday night dinner

3)  A virtual class Tuesday evening

The new class will begin in late January and Paul Winslow will lead the class. The book for the first session is $17 and scholarships are available.

If interested, please let Paul Winslow know your preferred time at plwinslow3@gmail.com or 757-646-3278.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”  - 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
