Total housing inventory going into October was at 1.13 million units, up 2.7% from the previous month but down 8.1% compared to the same time last year. Locally, these trends are similar. However, there are a few surprising increases in new listings and inventory when compared to last year.

Climate, Taxes, & Ethics, Discussed at NAR Board of Directors Meeting

Thousands gathered at NAR NXT, The REALTOR® Experience in Anaheim, California. The event also served as the location for the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Board of Directors meeting. Some action items from the meeting include:

• Reinforcing NAR's commitment to sustainability and the environment

• Four new tax policy recommendations including a tax credit to encourage home sales

• A Code of Ethics amendment clarifying a REALTORS®'s obligation to protect buyers and sellers alike

December 1st is the Deadline for 2023 RPAC Investments

All REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) investments must be received by RPAC of New Jersey by the close of business on December 1st, 2023.

RPAC exists solely to further issues important to REALTORS®, private property owners and the real estate market.

During NAR NXT, The REALTOR® Experience in Anaheim, attendees cheered at the accomplishments made by REALTORS® during the Advocacy Scoop portion of the show. Successes discussed include:

• NAR's engagement with the Federal Reserve regarding rate increases

• 35% participation rate in RPAC, a exceptionally high number for a political action committee

• 115 wins for REALTOR®-friendly candidates on Election Day

Your Chance for a $1,000 Scholarship to the NJR Leadership Academy

New Jersey REALTORS^® Leadership Academy consists of 5 in-depth training sessions. Emerging leaders in the state will be encouraged with motivational activities as they sharpen leadership skills to exert a strong positive influence on the future of the profession.

12 applicants will be accepted. A $250 deposit is required to apply, which will be fully reimbursed for non-accepted candidates. The tuition fee is $1,000. NEXUS will provide a $1,000 scholarship upon successful completion of the 2024 NJR Leadership Academy to the first NEXUS member who is accepted.
