Our second edition of the Purple Star Bulletin is here, and we are excited to announce many upcoming events at St. Louis that honor and celebrate our military. Happy Birthday (October 13th) to our Navy! On October 26th we recognize the National Day of the Deployed. Please keep all service members and their families in your prayers as we honor their sacrifices to keep us safe here at home. We remember especially the families of our St. Louis School community who have a loved one who is currently deployed.

You can help us reach our goal to provide 250 wreaths before November 28th by sponsoring one HERE.

Today marks 60 days until National Wreaths Across America Day on December 16th. As a Purple Star school, we are honored to participate this year by helping Arlington National Cemetery to remember and honor our veterans with Remembrance wreaths for the graves of our country's fallen heroes.

Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring a wreath in honor of or in memory of a veteran. Upon purchasing a wreath, Wreaths Across America will give $5 back to St. Louis School & Preschool to benefit our programs and initiatives for our military-connected families.

All St. Louis School & Preschool families are invited to a special combined Coffee with the Principal and Coffee & Connections. Please plan to join Mrs. Dyke and special guest, Army wife, mother and advocate Mrs. Vicki Cody on Wednesday, October 25 at 8:15am for coffee and conversation.

Adopt-a-Soldier

Thank you for everyone who has submitted a Soldier's name for our Adopt-A-Soldier campaign. At this time we have 5 Soldiers who we will be remembering especially through letters, care packages and our daily prayers this school year. Our official introduction to our Soldiers will be in November in conjunction with our Veterans Day Celebration. Please know we are praying daily for all our deployed service members and their families.

Wall of Honor Submissions Due

As you walk down the hall outside the cafeteria you may have noticed our Military Wall of Honor. Our school community is full of parents and family members who have served our country, and we are proud to honor their service here at St. Louis. If you or a loved one served and would like to be included, please submit this FORM and a 4x6 photo by October 20th. Submissions may be sent in with your child to the attention of Mrs. Colleen Ferguson.

Military Family Survey

If you are a military connected family and you haven’t filled this out, please do! As a Purple Star School, we are required to to conduct an annual survey of our military families. Students of families who have completed the survey will receive special recognition during the Month of the Military Child in April. We appreciate you and thank you for your time in filling out this survey.
