DSI Receives Donation From Tom and Pam Twardzik Family Foundation

Construction for Phase 1 of The Center For Education, Business & Arts (CEBA) is underway and Wagman Construction estimates it will be completed in approximately 12 months. Phase 1 includes constructing the entire shell of the building, and completing the ground and first floor. This includes a commercial kitchen, Penn State classroom DSI offices, and co-working spaces. Phase 2 will complete the second floor which includes an event center and additional office space. This major project would not be possible without the support of multiple supporters and funders, including local, state, and federal grants, community members, and business leaders.

Pictured above is Karen Kenderdine, President and Treasurer of Downtown Shenandoah, Inc. (DSI) accepting a check from Tom Twardzik, President of Ateeco, Mrs. T's Pierogies. Twardzik is a close friend and long-time supporter of DSI and an integral partner in helping make CEBA a reality. "Tom is always there to help us and this generous check from The Tom and PamTwardzik Family Foundation is truly appreciated," said Kenderdine. "His ongoing input, leadership, and support has, and will be instrumental in so many ways." Kenderdine graciously accepted the donation in front of the future CEBA site located on North Main Street, Shenandoah, PA.

"We are thrilled to support Downtown Shenandoah, Inc. with a contribution of $120,000 from the Tom and Pam Twardzik Family Foundation to help build the Center for Education, Business and the Arts (CEBA). This project holds special meaning for us as it honors the legacy of Ted Twardzik, Sr., the founder of Ateeco, Inc., maker of Mrs. T's Pierogies, and his beloved wife, Jean. We believe CEBA will serve as an economic engine, fostering entrepreneurial spirit and contributing to the revitalization of Shenandoah. The inclusion of a commercial kitchen is particularly significant, reflecting our family’s deep roots in the food industry and our commitment to supporting our community and small businesses, which are the backbone of the American economy. It is our hope that CEBA will inspire and empower aspiring food entrepreneurs, reflecting the values and spirit of Ted Twardzik, Sr.," said Tom Twardzik, representing the Tom and Pam Twardzik Family Foundation.
