The New School Year Brings
a New Website to the
Kane ROE

The start of the new school year brought new surprises from the Kane County Regional Office of Education (ROE), a new website. The new website was created internally by the Kane ROE staff

The website redesign was an essential step in keeping up with technology. The previous website had been used for many years. While progressive at the time it was built, it no longer met the ROE’s needs. The planning and building of the new site took approximately five months. Along with the physical appearance and new navigation structure, the ROE staff updated the site’s ADA accessibility.

You can visit the ROE’s website at www.kaneroe.org. Stay updated with Kane ROE and follow-on social media and YouTube.
Slow Down: Back to School Means Sharing the Road

If you're driving behind a bus, allow a greater following distance than if you were driving behind a car. It will give you more time to stop once the yellow lights start flashing. It is illegal in all 50 states to pass a school bus that is stopped to load or unload children.

• In a school zone when flashers are blinking, stop and yield to pedestrians crossing the crosswalk or intersection.

• Always stop for a school patrol officer or crossing guard holding up a stop sign.

• Take extra care to look out for children in school zones, near playgrounds and parks, and in all residential areas.
