CVOEO's Weatherization Program is an anti-poverty program with the purpose of reducing electrical and heating load of housing units within Vermont.
Saving an average of 30% of a homeowner or renter's energy bills allows those financial resources to be used in other important budget areas. Through comprehensive testing of the building and careful completion of the energy work, housing units are made safer, healthier, and more energy efficient.
The Weatherization team engages in various types of work, including airsealing, insulation, ventilation, and heating efficiency. In the last year, 217 households received weatherization and energy efficiency improvements, which resulted in 281 gallons of oil being saved per household.
