ALTAR SERVICE TRAINING

If you are looking for a way to get involved in our service, we are looking for you!

NEXT TRAININGS: Sundays, March 10 & 17

Fr. Dan will lead altar service or "Eucharistic Minister" training for those who may be interested in helping Fr. Dan at the altar from time to time. If you are interested, or just curious, stay after the service to see what it's about. This training is open to any interested person.

The Bishop is Coming!

Bishop Santosh Marray of the Episcopal Diocese of Easton will be with us at Old Trinity Church on Sunday, April 7 for his episcopal visit.

Join us for our service at 11:00 am as together we reaffirm our baptismal vows, support those who will be confirmed, and formally receive new members into our parish.

Our worship service will be followed by a coffee hour reception for the bishop in Valliant Hall.

For more information, contact Fr. Dan at rector@oldtrinity.net

UPCOMING DATES

Saturday, March 23 (11:00 am): Palm Cross Workshop

Come out to the parish hall to help make "Palm Crosses" for Palm Sunday. They're easy and fun to make!

PASSION or "PALM" SUNDAY, March 24

Our service begins in the parish hall, where we bless palms branches. Then we process down to the church through the Lychgate, in commemoration of Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem. This Day is called "Passion Sunday" because we read the story of the Passion, this year from Mark's Gospel. Service begins at 11:00 am. Invite your friends and family. All are welcome!

MAUNDY THURSDAY, March 28 (6:00 pm)

This is the evening we commemorate the Last Supper of Jesus with his friends, his disciples. At the end of the service we strip the altar, put away the vessels of Holy Communion, and cover the Cross with a shroud. From this point on until Easter morning, the church is symbolically a sepulcher waiting for a "body." Yet the Body that appears on Easter morning is alive, because Christ is risen!

GOOD FRIDAY, March 29 (12 Noon)

We gather at noon at the church to follow the Via Dolorosa ("Way of Sorrow") through the graveyard, using the traditional Stations of the Cross. This is a very moving service, followed by a light soup & bread lunch in the parish hall. Invite your friends and family. All are welcome.

EASTER SUNDAY, March 31 (11 am)

Join us for the celebration of Christ's Resurrection with our first Eucharist of Easter! Our service begins with the solemn procession of the Paschal Candle, commemorating the "Light of Christ" once again bringing the light of the Gospel into our midst, and proclaiming that "Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again!" What a great Sunday to invite your friends and family. All are welcome!

Easter Egg Hunt! (following Easter Day service)

Old Trinity Church is the perfect place for a traditional Easter egg hunt. All kids are welcome to join the fun!
