A note from Chapter President, Susan Stein Kregar, CAE, CNAP, Desert Lotus Group
Hello NAWIC Members and Friends,
September 30th marks the end of my term as chapter president. This NAWIC year was quite a learning and growth experience for me. I learned more about NAWIC from where we have been, what we offer, and where we are going. I learned a lot about myself -- strengths I was not aware of and areas that I need and want to improve so I can continue to serve in a capacity that allows our chapter to continue to thrive.
My presidency really was not about me. It’s about you, the members and what you did to make NAWIC Tucson the organization other associations are talking about. Allow me again to thank these ladies for their outstanding work from WIC Week, Bowling, Cornerstone, Membership, Design Drafting, Communications, Scholarships and more, these ladies readily stepped up to the plate.
The 2021-2022 Board of Directors
Candice Perkins, Jamie Thrush, Tracy Miller, Sandy Lipe, Yvette Pederson, Deirdre DuPlessis, Jessica Ogiba, and Laura Vertes. Florence Bramlett will serve as our Parliamentarian.
Committee Chairs & Volunteers
Tracy Miller, Yvette Pederson, Florence Bramlett, Jamie Thrush, Becky Johnson, Susan Stein Kregar, Gina Hansen, Talyor Kessler, Debra Keiser, Tammy Minot, Katharine Kent, Kimberly Dycus, and Tami McCarthy.
I also wish to thank our Regional Director, Karen Ellis for her guidance and Robin Fulton Myer for her assistance throughout the year.
Our chapter is in great hands under the returning leadership of incoming president, Tracy Miller and her board of directors and committee chairs. Please be sure to join us for these events as we round out 2022:
October 12 -- Chapter Meeting -- Know Your NAWIC
November 2 - 3 -Construction Career Days
November 9 -- Chapter Meeting
November 15 -- Cornerstone Banquet
December 3 -- NAWIC Night at the Gaslight
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your chapter president and thank you for the very kind and generous gift.
Cheers,
Susan Stein Kregar
President 2021-2022

Habitat for Humanity Tucson offers an innovative solution to the crisis of affordable housing by giving a hand up, not a hand out.
They accomplish their mission by building and repairing homes in partnership with the community and local families. They value inclusiveness and win/win partnerships, respect for the dignity of each person, and a commitment to deliver a strong return on the community’s investment in their work.
Habitat for Humanity Tucson is developing a solution to two of the most pressing issues facing Arizona, the lack of affordable housing and a growing need for skilled workforce in the trades. The Connie Hillman Urban Construction Knowledge Center (CHUCK) will serve as Habitat Tucson’s construction hub, warehouse, and training center. It will provide job training and intern opportunities with real-world experience building affordable housing.
