Teen council members develop and collaborate on emergency preparedness projects with other students across the country. They also work with their local communities and represent their interests in regular meetings with FEMA staff.
This is an opportunity for high school students to gain unique experience by working with a federal agency on wildfire and other emergency planning. Not only will they be improving their own communities, FEMA looks to the Youth Council for valuable feedback and input on agency programs.
The program begins in July and students will work with other participants virtually throughout the year. The program culminates with a summit in Washington, DC.
