WesternU celebrates alumni at reunion

Western University of Health Sciences celebrated alumni from the inaugural Class of 1982 through the most recent Class of 2022 and many more in between. WesternU’s third Alumni Reunion included a networking reception at the Fox Theater in downtown Pomona Sept. 16, 2022, and dinner on the Pomona Esplanade Sept. 17.

WesternU Fest on 2nd

WesternU’s Office of the Provost and the Student Government Association are sponsoring a series of festivals throughout the year for the enjoyment of students, alumni, faculty and staff.

The first “WesternU Fest on 2nd” event, an Arts and Music Festival held Sept. 21 on the Pomona Esplanade, celebrated the creativity and faculty, staff and students and provided an opportunity to bond as friends and colleagues.

WesternU Fest in the Northwest

WesternU Fest in the Northwest hosts Fall Fest, 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2022 at CHS-Northwest, 2665 S. Santiam Highway, Lebanon, Oregon.


WesternU Oregon students, employees, and their families are invited to enjoy a pumpkin carving contest, freshly-squeezed apple cider, a slice of locally-baked pie, and more. Please also drop off K-12 school supply donations.

Department of Physical Therapy Education - Oregon Assistant Professor Anu M. Räisänen led a collaboration with researchers from the University of Calgary in Canada, Saint Louis University in Missouri and University of Bath in the United Kingdom. The team recently published:

Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

University Student Affairs is organizing a tabling event on the Pomona campus from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 on the HEC Esplanade in support of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. We will be hosting the following providers on the Pomona campus:


  1. Dr. Luis Orozco, Optum (our on-site provider for students)
  2. SoulTenders, an Optum provider
  3. Tri-City Mental Health


The SGA will be sponsoring free popsicles/ice cream bars as well to help encourage people to come out and connect with our guests. This informational event is open to all faculty, staff, and students. More information on our student behavioral health resources here:
