The Future of Work is Diverse, Inclusive, Just and Equitable

GlobalMindED closes the equity gap by creating a capable, diverse talent pipeline through connections to role models, mentors, internships for low-income students, returning adults, First Gen to college and inclusive leaders who teach them, work with them and hire them.
RX for Resilience: Familia

"Familia" is more than just a mother, father, and siblings for many latinos. Rather, this word encompasses all those who are closest to your heart, spanning from one's extended family to friends and all the "tíos" and "tías" met throughout life.

As Hispanic Heritage Month draws to an end, this Sunday we invite you to connect with the importance of the word "familia". In many Spanish-speaking countries, cultural values place a great significance on community, family, and collective ideals. The United States portrays more of an individualistic culture, which sometimes can make us forget the importance of our community. We believe there is much we can learn from the communal culture in various countries, and we know that through valuing our family, neighbors, and community, we work better together to resolve conflicts and challenges.

Today, spend time reconnecting with your community and family. Who makes up your "familia", whether chosen or genetic? How do you support and connect with your "familia"? If you feel disconnected or lacking close friends or family, take a moment this Sunday to find a local event or club you can join. If you realized you have not talked with your family or friends recently, pick up your phone and call or send a quick message to them. Sometimes just a mere "thinking of you" can mean the world to a person.

We are excited to continue celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month this week and invite you to join us in learning from all the diverse, beautiful "culturas latinas". We invite you all to be a part of our "familia" here at GlobalMindED - a family that supports all and believes in creating safe spaces for us to grow and fight for equity in our communities. Thank you for joining us in this work and a happy Sunday to you and your "familia".
