Now Accepting Applications for Teacher Advisory Council and Teacher Leader Advisory Council
The Teacher Advisory Council and Teacher Leader Advisory Council are launching next week for the 2022-23 school year! These councils meet regularly with senior leaders -- including Superintendent Dr. Alex Marrero and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Tony Smith -- as well as central support staff to share feedback, ideas and input on decisions and planning that affect students, teachers and teacher leaders. Access this year's council commitments and meeting dates. Interested candidates may apply for the Teacher Advisory Council or the Teacher Leader Advisory Council by Oct. 11.

The 2022-23 African American Young Ladies Summit Program registration is now open! Students in grade six through college are invited to join us in demonstrating Black excellence in self-advocacy on Oct. 21 from 9-11:30 a.m. Register here for this virtual event. New PDUs Now Available for Registration
Additional Professional Development Units (PDU) are being added now through Sept. 30! Registration links and course information can be found in the PDU Course Guide. Science PDU Registration is Now Open
Registration is now open for kindergarten through 12th-grade science teachers to participate in a year-long science PDU anchored in two resources: Ambitious Science Teaching and Science in the City.
 
Designed to build your capacity to support students with scientific modeling and culturally-relevant classroom practices, this PDU will be co-led by one of the authors of Ambitious Science Teaching, Melissa Braaten! 
 
We are excited to host this PDU in person this year, and will build on the great success we had with the half-year version last spring! Register in Learning Space by searching for PDU 22-23 Ambitious Science 2.0 Teaching PDU. If you have any questions, email Douglas Watkins.
ECE Update: Register for Teal Day Sessions
The Early Education Department offers professional development opportunities throughout the school year during Teal Days. These sessions support all ECE teachers and ECE paraprofessionals in the completion of the state’s required 15 hours of professional development for these professionals each year. Please take time to register for sessions held on Oct. 17 in the Session Guide under Department: Early Childhood.
