The Library is looking forward to seeing you at the LaGrange Fall Festival in Freedom Park on Sunday, October 23rd! Please visit our table for books, DVDs, and our new tote bags, free with a donation to the Library.
Miss Mary will also have a fun craft for the kids.

Take a chance on winning the beautiful basket pictured below filled with treats, including fall decor, family board games, handmade soaps, Godiva chocolates, and bottles of wine, courtesy of Price Right Wine & Liquor in Lagrangeville. The basket raffle will be going on at the Festival and in the Library during the entire month of October.

The Great Give Back 2022
The LaGrange Association Library invites our community once again to participate in The Great Give Back! This year we are collecting a variety of items for Hudson River Housing, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to providing everyone with a good place to live in dignity. We will collect these donations inside the library throughout the month of October during regular hours.

Join us once again for the Big Read! This year we are reading Pretty Monsters by Kelly Link. We are celebrating all things short stories and gothic horror this year. To learn more about the Big Read or register for events, please go here.

AARP Smart Driver Course
The Library is hosting the AARP Smart Driver™ Course in November. Participants must attend both dates on November 17th & 22nd in order to complete the course and receive credit from their insurance company. 

Completing the course may provide a 10% discount on your auto insurance, as well as eliminate up to 4 points from your NYS license. Payments must be made upon arrival on the first day of class by check - cash and credit cards will not be accepted. Cost: $25 AARP members | $30 non-AARP members. Please bring your driver's license and AARP membership card, if applicable.

October Program Highlights
Join Gary Robusto, founder of the New York Bigfoot Society and Tri-City NY Paranormal Society, for a talk about cryptids and bigfoot in New York State. Gary has been a paranormal researcher for 24 years and has been featured on the Discovery Channel, the History Channel, Nat Geo, Travel Channel, Destination America, and international TV.

He is a boots-on-the-ground field researcher whose love for the outdoors and skills in mountaineering/animal behavior drives him to be out in the field gaining possible evidence and information from a logical and realistic point of view.

Are you interested in raising chickens? Explore the ins and outs of backyard chicken-keeping to find out if this hobby is right for you. There's a lot to think about and a lot to do before that first fresh egg appears in your kitchen. Lisa Sassi, a member of the Dutchess County 4-H Poultry Advisory and a 5-year backyard chicken-keeper, will walk you through the process and introduce you to a few of her fluffy friends.
