“Meet, Greet, and Eats”

Worship Greeter Training

4:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 13

in the Sanctuary.

This will be a chance for all current and anyone wishing to be a greeter to: meet some of the other greeters, hear from Pastor Will about why greeting is so important, provide feedback on what is working, suggest improvements, and join a quick tour of the sanctuary building.

Barb's Medical Minute

It is REALLY hard to say goodbye to a loved one.  Nobody likes not being in control over situations whether it is a bodily function or their environment; so, give your loved one a choice, if possible. Some will want to talk about their impending death and funeral arrangements etc., others definitely do not.  When you are with your loved one, your presence is more important than having the perfect words. Silence is also OK. There does not need to be a final dramatic Hallmark moment! In fact, that rarely happens. It is the heartfelt simple, but essential things. “I love you.” “Thank you.” “I am here.” “We will be OK.” “You will not be forgotten.” “It’s OK to go home to God.” Your loved one wants to know that the seeds they planted in life will continue to grow, and that they mattered and made a difference. I think hugs are always good, too.

If you are grieving, the Grief and Grace sessions are starting on February 5th for 6 weeks. Call Barb for information at 941-488-4942, or to register, or just show up on the 5th at 10:30 at the office.  We are here to help you or someone you know through a difficult time.

Please keep the following people in your prayers:

  • Kenneth Brecht
  • Michala Chipurnoi & family
  • Pr. Davis Darrington
  • Caroline Giambattista
  • Jim Hightower
  • Curtis Savenko
  • Marie VanNosdall
  • Laura Welch

Prayers are lifted for the family and friends of Kathy & Bob Keck in the death of his brother, Greg and Sandy Wright who lost her brother, Ron.

Received from:

  • Family Promise for donations totaling $1,602.50 in 2023.
  • The Twig for donations totaling $1,250.50 in January.
