Join us for Faith Formation/Promotion Sunday in the Sanctuary at 11 AM. (No 9 AM Celebrate! service this week). See details below under "This Week at Saint Mark."
|
Faith Formation is seeking a male volunteer to lead a Small Group study with men from Saint Mark. Our team has several mixed small group offerings launching in September. Additionally, we would like to offer a small group specifically for men, and we need a male volunteer to lead the group. Please contact Linda Jones or Pat Reynolds if you are willing to serve in this area.
|
If you are looking for an opportunity to serve, we are in need of Greeters to serve in the Atrium before the 9 AM Celebrate! service on Sunday mornings. Responsibilities include greeting folks and helping visitors find where they need to be. If you’d like to sign up, click here to contact

BETA SIGMA PHI HELPS FEED THE HUNGRY
|
Saint Mark disciples pictured are (left to right) Sally Boggs, Carolyn Keese, and Sue Crane. Other Saint Mark members who pack snack bags include Becky Glenn and Jan Grousd (not pictured).
|
If you are around the Saint Mark kitchen, you may see a group that stays pretty busy. Every 2-3 weeks members of Xi Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority pack 350 snack meal bags for Patsy Davis' feeding program for the hungry/homeless in the Utica Community. Patsy runs a seven-days-a-week feeding program that provides a hot meal each day, and these snack bags provide an additional meal.

Weekly Prayer
Most merciful God,
We confess that we are mired in sin and cannot get free on our own. We have judged others based on skin color, sex, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, ability, financial and social status. We have preferred the ease and simplicity of placing others into boxes to the complexity of getting to know one another as siblings. We have contributed to and often benefited from systems that maintain the power of a privileged few. We have remained silent in the face of racism, sexism, heterosexism, transphobia, ableism, and other forms of prejudice. Through both our action and inaction, war, poverty, and environmental degradation continue on massive scales. We have ignored your prophets and turned from your command to put you first and neighbor second. We have permitted the ends for which we live to become confused with the means by which we live. Forgive our ignorance. Forgive our weakness. Forgive our sin. May your love overwhelm us, your peace disturb us, and your spirit move us so that we cannot help but do your will at all times and in all places, always glorifying your name.
Amen.
