Welcome

Last month, our newsletter highlighted our first Leadership Skills workshop, which was so successful that the OSFA will be offering a second one on March 6.

This month we focus on another impactful program, the OSFA Faculty Transition Series. This is a series of dynamic zoom webinars originated by our amazing Senior Program Manager Anne Levy which addresses many of the elements that come into play as faculty move toward retirement.

  • Our first session involved a panel of MGH faculty who crafted their (semi)retirements to include ongoing connection to MGH as well as exciting personal pursuits. If you missed it or found it so rich in content you couldn't digest it all, you can (re)watch the webinar here.
  • The second session, coming on Fri, Feb 16, CRAFTING YOUR NEXT CHAPTER- REFRAME, REVITALIZE, AND REINVENT, is a stimulating and thought-provoking presentation by MGH physician educator, certified coach and practicing clinician Stephanie Eisenstat and founding Executive Director of the Center for Higher Ambition Leadership Russ Eisenstat. The reframing and revitalizing elements are key here, as the Eisenstats present ways to "rewire" rather than retire.
  • The third session addresses the financial aspect of retirement- HEALTH OF YOUR WEALTH: RETIRING AGAINST A BACKDROP OF CHANGE- Tue, Mar 19. Our speaker, Nora Yousif, CFP, CDFA, MBA, is Financial Advisor and Senior Vice President of the Empower Wealth Group at RBC Wealth Management. She has previously presented at MGH on personal financial management and her knowledge and wisdom are so appreciated by our faculty that we keep inviting her back.
  • The fourth session will be facilitated by experts from our MGH Human Resources department, on what you need to know as you move toward retirement. Their presentation is aptly titled RETIREMENT NUTS AND BOLTS - Fri, Apr 12.

Each of these virtual sessions, which are scheduled at noon, is intended to be highly interactive and include ample time for Q&A. We look forward to seeing you on screen! Note that we are planning two more sessions on topics that have come to our attention as being among your concerns.

Do keep letting us know what you need to know in the domain of retirement—and also let us know what other topics you’d like to see featured.

With best wishes,

Steve
