We Did It! Preserving Cutler Bay's Green Spaces on Old Cutler Road

Mayor Tim Meerbott shares exciting updates about the acquisition of the 3.5 acres on SW 87th Ave and Old Cutler Road, marking a significant victory for Cutler Bay's community and environment. Your voices were heard, and we successfully avoided the development of a minimum of 109 units, mitigating potential traffic impacts on our Town. Cleanup efforts and a protective fence are underway, with visioning meetings starting in February. Additionally, progress on the 8.5-acre Environmental Restoration Land includes upcoming Public Involvement meetings and grants totaling over $1.3 million. Moving into Phase 2, the 16-Acre Legacy Park & Municipal Complex involves key stakeholders and brownfield strategies. Celebrate with us, as our Town now owns a total of 28 acres, preventing the development of over 618 units. Your support and engagement have made a lasting impact on keeping Cutler Bay green for future generations.
