Online voting information and ballots have been sent to all owners. The virtual annual meeting will be October 20 at 6pm.


The Elections Committee is hosting a virtual meet the candidates forum on October 6 at 6pm.

This will be an opportunity for homeowners to meet the candidates that are running for a seat on the Board of Directors and ask questions, as well as for the candidates to make any statement that they would like to make regarding their candidacy.

Virtual Board Meetings Resolution


The Board of Directors recently approved a virtual meetings resolution to bring the Association into compliance with the Property Owners Association Act and continue to hold virtual meetings. This applies to board, committee, and membership meetings. It also sets rules for conduct at meetings. Good with Numbers? 


The finance committee is looking for members, and for one of its members to step up as committee chair. This committee reviews association financial statements, investments, and budget, as it helps and advises the Board of Directors to make financial decisions in the best interest of the community.

MANAGER'S REPORT


September board meeting recap:


  • Gloucester Blvd will get enhanced and cleaned up mulch beds from Farmwell Rd to Grottoes Dr on the south side of the street.
  • The ad hoc landscape committee was disbanded and turned into a permanent landscape committee with a new charter.
  • The board is reviewing the five-year plan from the Racquet Sports Committee, to include improvement of facilities and expansion of tennis programming.
  • Existing planting beds along a few of our lakes will get new plantings to fill empty spaces and replace dead plants. Areas include Cedar Lake, Tippecanoe Lake, and Cheltenham Circle near the playground.
  • Community Landscape Services will once again be our snow removal contractor for the upcoming season.
  • The Board reviewed several options for next year's budget, to be approved at the October Board meeting.
  • Ten recycling containers for plastic bottles will be installed at sports fields and courts
  • Electronic traffic control/announcement signs will be replaced with radar-capable signs to show driving speed. The Board approved a free service offered by the Virginia Department of Forestry to assess our natural resources and provide recommendations.

FACILITIES & GROUNDS


Projects completed this week by the Facilities and Grounds crew include:


  • Relocated two trees to the end of Footstep Ter.
  • Numbered light poles on Cheltenham Cir.
  • Changed bulbs on light sweep list
  • Rebuilt bridge number 20 with composite lumber
  • Replaced rotted railroad ties along footpath
  • Replaced 4 twenty foot light poles
  • Replaced 1 thirteen foot light pole

DOMINION TRAIL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 

Husky Hustle 5k / 1 Mile Run


  • Friday, October 7th, the Dominion Trail Elementary School PTA will host the annual "Husky Hustle" an annual 5k / 1 Mile Run. The race will take place on Bruceton Mills Circle between 2PM and 5PM.


***Please use caution when driving in this area and observe the cones which will partially block Bruceton Mills.***

Anyone for Tennis?
Looking to add more tennis into your life? Wondering who's available to play? 
Join fellow residents for a Meet-In Tennis group on Tuesday evenings from 6--8 PM at the Lakes Rec Site. If you'd like to join in, please reserve your spot by contacting Susan by the Sunday evening before Tuesday play at sfrankgodfrey@gmail.com.
Our first meeting is Tuesday, July 12th! This is not instructional and is for residents 18 years and older. See you on the courts!

Ashburn Village SPORTS PAVILION Activities


Reminder:  the Marina is now only open on the weekends from 11am-5:15pm 


Looking for Aftercare this Fall for your children? Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion has openings and registration has already begun. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 2:45pm-6:00pm. We have bus transportation from Ashburn Elementary, Dominion Trail, and Discovery. We offer afternoon snack, homework help, STEM, outside and gym games provided daily.

Back to School Teen Weight Training Hours start Aug 25

  • Monday - Thursday 430p - 630p

Teenagers between the ages of 12-15 are able to use the weight room & cardio area without parental supervision during the designated time if they are teen weight trained certified. (An AVSP trainer or fitness attendant is on the floor during this time.)


Note: Any time other than TWT hours, teen must be under the direct supervision of the parent (which means the parent must be near enough to observe and assist if needed).

School's Out Camp
