CFCCC Pilot Funding Program - Request for Proposals


Submission Deadline: TODAY, March 6, 2023 (5:00 PM PST)


The CFCCC is accepting proposals for the CFCCC Pilot Funding Program. Five funding opportunities for cancer-related projects are available:

 

  • Early-Stage Investigator Award ($20,000)
  • Standard Award ($40,000)
  • Underrepresented Investigator Award ($40,000)
  • Re-entry After Family Care Award ($40,000)
  • Multi-PI (Team Science) Award ($60,000)

Call for Nominations: 2023 Meyskens Family Medical Research Award


Nomination Deadline: March 18, 2023 (5:00 PM PST)


The award will be presented to a graduating senior obtaining their MD degree in June 2023.


Nominees should exhibit high potential for a career in clinical research in any discipline. An emphasis on translational-oriented research (i.e., a physician-scientist) will be viewed as positive. Please note that this award is not limited to the field of oncology.


The application should be assembled by the nominating faculty member and sent to mededstudentaffairs@hs.uci.edu.

Summer Mentor Opportunity - CSUF/UCI Cancer Health Equity Research Partnership (CHERP) Program


There is an opportunity for UCI CFCCC members to participate in the inaugural summer research experience program for URM students from CSUF. Specifically, you're invited to become a mentor to one or more of these students through a 9-week (June 19 - August 18, 2023) summer research experience involving approximately 30 hours/week of activities. CHERP will support the students in their activities with you as well as provide $1,500 for lab supplies for every student you mentor. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Sora Park Tanjasiri.
