CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Have an Abstract-Reviewed

Paper to Share with the

EMC+SIPI Community?

DEADLINE: MARCH 4, 2024

Thank you to those who already submitted a paper for presentation consideration at the 2024 IEEE International Symposium on EMC+SIPI in Phoenix, AZ from August 5th - 9th.

If you missed the deadline for submitting a Traditional paper, you can still submit your Abstract-Reviewed paper(s) before March 4th! Abstract-Reviewed Papers require an extended abstract (one page), including relevant results and conclusions.

You have until MARCH 4th, 2024 to submit an Abstract-Reviewed paper. Do not miss this opportunity to contribute to the technical program, and attend the symposium in-person to enjoy all the technical sessions, network with friends and colleagues, and experience Phoenix, Arizona in the stunning Southwest Sonoran Desert.

Thank you for your contribution(s) to the Technical Program.

Sincerely,

Chuck Bunting

PHOENIX, AZ FUN FACTS

Arizona features many scenic views, a fact that has not escape Hollywood's attention. These are just a few of the iconic movies that have been filmed right here in this Sonoran Desert city.

  • Transformers: The Last Knight (2017): Filmed at Luke Air Force Base, a Valley junkyard and along Loop 303 and State Route 88, this film included numerous action sequences that involved specialty vehicles, aircraft and pyrotechnics on Arizona highways.
  • Jerry Macguire (1996): Tom Cruise's Jerry Maguire chose Arizona State University’s Sun Devil Stadium for the set of their movie's climactic final game.
  • Waiting to Exhale (1995): Angela Basset's famous chick flick starts out with her character living in Scottsdale, but she visits both the Hermosa Inn AND The Wright's Bar at the famous Arizona Biltmore Resort.
  • Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures (1989): This early Keanu Reeves movie was a huge hit, and was filmed here in multiple locations, including the now closed Metrocenter, once one of the nation's largest indoor malls.
  • Raising Arizona (1986): This aptly named movie was locally filmed partially at the luxurious Phoenician Resort, standing in as the furniture tycoon's personal residence in the movie.
  • A Star is Born (1976): Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson star in this movie featuring their concert at Sun Devil Stadium, as well as some inside stage shots of ASU Gammage in Tempe.
  • Psycho (1960): Possibly the most famous movie on this list, Phoenix is featured in the fly-over, opening scenes of this Hitchcock classic. After visiting Phoenix, you will be amazed at the changes that have taken place to the cityscape in the past 63 years!
