Georgetown Community Day Delights at GU
Georgetown University held its annual fall Georgetown Community Day, a fun and family-friendly festival bringing together local businesses, students, faculty and staff. With the theme of "community," the event is designed to connect new students with the neighborhood.
New Anti-Street-Party Bylaw in Effect
Hamilton city council passed a nuisance party bylaw for unsanctioned street gatherings. If charged, an individual host, property owner, or attendee can face up to $10,000 for a first offense and $25,000 for any subsequent offense related to a nuisance party.
UO & Eugene Leaders Welcome Off-Campus Students
University of Oregon students living off- campus were personally welcomed back to school by university and city of Eugene leaders. The Good Neighbor Welcome marked a return to the door-to-door off-campus neighborhood outreach effort formerly known as Community Welcome.
A 'Crisis Cafe' Has Opened at Two Leicester Universities
The facility has been launched at De Montfort University and the University of Leicester, offering advice in 'non clinical' settings. The charity behind the initiative, Mental health Matters, said students were more open than ever about mental health but that stigma remained.
