Daily Lenten Offering

For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”

God, caution me when I confuse one part for the whole picture, when I become so sure I understand all angles. It is ok to not know an answer. Humble my ego so I may be more curious. Amen.

The journey of faith discovery is not an internal inquiry alone. We learn when we listen to the stories, wisdom, and questions of others. Ask a family member, a neighbor, or (if you’re brave) a stranger:

• Tell me something about yourself that I might not already know. Explore with me some things we might have in common.
