THIS WEEK
Tower TV Episode 1
Our first Tower TV episode this school year features several fall sports, student musicians at East, the Digital Art club, some of our new staff and some East history as well as creative pieces about the weather, cell phone misuse and twin telepathy. The theme song for this year's TTV show opener features original music by senior Cooper Smith, who is using an independent study with myself and Mr. Hrovat-Staeder, East Choir Teacher, to compose and record original music for a TTV music library.
Voting Registration & Student Poll Worker Sign Up
Uncle Sam (East Social Studies Teacher, Terry Green) was out and about this week with our U.S. Government class students helping students get registered to vote and signing students up to work the polls for the
Wisconsin Fall General 2022 Elections. Students who are 16 or older can make $14.01/hor working the polls! Contact Mr. Green to sign-up.
Students Visit Madison College Fire & EMS Program
Students attended the Madison College Fire & EMS program this week. They were able to see the training facility and actually handle the jaw of life to transport a water bottle and egg from the floor to an orange cone. Students and families can learn more about Madison College's NextGen Responders Academy where motivated high school students can learn skills today for an Emergency Medical Responder or Fire Technician job tomorrow. The training provided by Madison College prepares students for immediate job placement.
Alumni Give Back
A huge thank you to the Class of 1972 who donated $500 to the East High School Student Assistance Fund. The money was presented by Jeanne Williams and Jeff Theisen (pictured).

Future Planning Week
East's Counseling Department is working on Future Planning Week during the week of October 10th - October 13th. East High School Counselors are excited to visit senior level English classrooms to present information on post high school planning. There will be assistance for students who may be planning to attend college, begin an apprenticeship, enroll in the military, take a gap year, or start a career. Outside volunteers will also present on such topics like college admissions, FAFSA and apprenticeships. Students should come prepared to work on or explore the path they would like to pursue post high school.
