Get up to $10,000 for your small business! Federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds are providing grants to small businesses in Alameda County that were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Applicants will be notified in November


Grant Details 

  • Eligible businesses receive a one-time grant
  • $5,000 for home-based and $10,000 for brick-and-mortar businesses
  • No repayment – these are cash grants!
  • Grants will be awarded by lottery (if grant applications exceed funding)

Eligibility

  • For-profit businesses
  • Employ between 1 and 25 employees
  • Home-based or brick-and-mortar locations & independently owned franchises
  • Must be open and operating with a current business license
  • Businesses self-attest to negative economic impacts caused by the pandemic

Use of Funds

  • Rent/lease/mortgage payments
  • Payroll and operating expenses
  • PPE, sanitation, health & safety equipment
  • Digital technology equipment
  • Interior & exterior improvements (outdoor seating, signage, etc.)

 Comcast RISE | Marketing & Technology Services Program

Applications will close on October 16, 2022

 

Comcast RISE stands for Representation, Investment, Strength and Empowerment. The initiative combines the talent and resources of two business units with small business expertise – Effectv, the ad sales division of Comcast Cable, and Comcast Business – to sustain, support and rebuild underrepresented small businesses within their combined footprints.

 

Applicants can apply to the grant to be awarded one of the following services:

  • Marketing Strategy: Advertising and marketing consultations with local Effectv marketing, research, and creative teams to gain insights on how to grow your business.
  • Media Campaign Only: A linear TV media schedule, over a 90-day period.
  • Creative Media Production + Media Campaign: Turnkey production of a 30-second TV commercial, plus a media strategy consultation and 90-day media placement schedule.
  • Technology Makeover: Computer equipment and Internet, Voice and Cybersecurity services for 12 months. (Taxes and other fees may still apply for tech makeover services.)

 

Eligibility

  • At least 51% owned and operated by someone who identifies as person of color (including Black, Indigenous, Hispanic, and Asian American), or a woman
  • Is independently owned and operated; and not a franchise location
  • Is registered to conduct business in the US
  • Has been operating for one or more years
  • Is located within the Comcast Business or Effectv service area footprint
