President's Letter

WHIT 2023

As we enter our 8th year as a professional association, I want to first express my gratitude to all of the inspiring women who have leaned into WHIT over the years as a place for networking, professional development, and volunteerism. As your recently appointed President, I am in awe of the amazing contributions the board and WHIT members have made in the healthcare industry and feel honored to be entrusted with this position.

As healthcare information technology professionals, we all understand

the unique challenges that women face in this industry. Following in the

footsteps of our prior leaders, I will continue the commitment to foster WHIT’s mission to supporting and empowering women in

healthcare information technology and promoting their growth and advancement in this field. As we kick off 2023, we have already begun executing plans to put forward an amazing lineup of educational projects, networking events, and enhancements to our mentoring program. So stay tuned!

On behalf of our amazing volunteer board, representing healthcare providers, health plans, and leading technology vendors, we look forward to your continued engagement as we all strive to make an impact in healthcare IT.

Sincerely,

“Women's education and professional development has always been a topic close to my heart. My mother did not have the opportunity she desperately wanted and fought hard to get ahead. This created a desire in me to help other women in her situation to grow professionally.”

Previously, Mauricio Jimenez (MJ) volunteered as an advisor to a non-profit focused on teaching women in Africa technical skills, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, to help prepare them for technical careers.

MJ is Consulting Director for Change Healthcare. He has been working with WHIT since May 2018. MJ was just announced as WHIT's newest Communications Chair!
