Winter Split Tee Starts

November 6, 2023 will begin our winter season tee time schedule. All tee sheets (except Harvard Gulch) will be going to a split tee start on holes 1 and 10 to help reduce frost delays and provide customers with the maximum number of available tee times during the winter months.

What is a split tee start? A split tee start means that there are two 18-hole start times, one off of each 9 (Example: a foursome can tee off at 9 AM from hole #1 while another foursome can tee off at 9 AM from #10). Groups that tee off the 10th tee will turn to #1 to complete 18-hole rounds. When searching tee times, both front nine and back nine tee times will show on the tee sheet (for example it will say Starting Front 9 and Starting Back 9).

Grass Driving Ranges Move To Mats For Winter Months

In order to allow the driving range grass to recover before the dormant winter season, City Park and Overland have moved to mat-only use for the rest of the season. This will benefit and strengthen the grass for next season and beyond, and allow for a better long-term experience. First Tee In-School Programming

First Tee-Colorado Rocky Mountains does so much more than just provide junior golf lessons. One of our programs provides golf in PE classes in schools. Learn more below.

There’s an abundance of convincing evidence that youth involved in our programs transferred essential life skills into multiple settings which they learned through the game of golf. We’ve structured the curriculum of our programs for kids’ golf in Colorado, combined with trained educators, to empower kids with a set of skills that prepares them for a lifetime of new challenges. And through our partnerships with Denver schools, we’ve been able to share the game of golf in schools across the metro area and beyond. 

Since 2004, First Tee has been integrating the First Tee School Program into PE classes across the country. We’ve provided teachers at elementary and middle schools across the country with our curriculum designed around the game of golf. Through our impressive programs, such as Read 'n' Swing and Club Building, we’re helping students develop essential life skills and positive attitudes. In addition to our kids’ golf programs, we work with the school to identify funding opportunities for our non-profit, such as sponsors or donations. 

Our kids’ golf program in Colorado aligns with the National Standards for Physical Education established by the Society of Health & Physical Educators (SHAPE). It provides physical educators with the ability to adapt kids’ golf lessons to fit their specific classroom settings.
