Don't Mess with Texas Borders

Everyone has been witnessing the tragedy at our border for almost three years now. Ever since Joe Biden signaled that the border was effectively open, people have been pouring over. It's appalling that Biden has allowed this to happen. The border invasion is detrimental to our state and nation, enriches human smugglers and is frankly inhumane to people genuinely seeking a better life. The federal government and this President refuse to act, so Governor Abbott has stepped up.

The Governor has played a pivotal role in the relocation of illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities. And despite the howls of liberal mayors suddenly confronted with the reality of their rhetoric and policies, the President remains inactive. So the Governor is empowering the Texas National Guard to not only support the Border Patrol but actually work to secure the border when the federal government can't or won't.

You may have seen how this has created a showdown of sorts with the federal government, who clearly has an objective to encourage as much illegal immigration as possible. It has been so encouraging to see other governors, and conservative leaders publicly supporting our Governor's bold actions. I hope you will join me in voicing support for Governor Abbott's efforts and let Joe Biden know that Texas can't sit idly by while he encourages this disaster.

Democrats Are Extreme on Abortion

This week, the Biden administration is marked what would have been the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade by holding pro-abortion rallies across the country. Life is precious and worth defending; Biden and Democrats are fighting to force their radical abortion agenda on all Americans – Republicans are fighting to stop them and protect life. 

What you need to know:

• The Democrat Party is the extremist party when it comes to abortion.
• Biden and Democrats have caved to the most radical members of their party supporting abortion-on-demand up until the moment of birth and after.
• 47 out of 50 countries in Europe have limits on abortion prior to 15 weeks, while Roe’s viability standard was in line with China and North Korea.
• The Biden administration is an advocate for abortions without limits.
• Biden refused to name any limits on abortion that he supports despite having acknowledged that abortion kills a child.
• Kamala Harris said that supporting abortion-on-demand “does not require anyone to abandon their faith or their beliefs."
• Biden’s HHS sought to circumvent the Hyde Amendment in order to use federal taxpayer dollars to fund abortion.
• Senate Democrats have consistently promoted unlimited abortion-on-demand and have refused to name any limits on abortion they support.
• House Democrats have been vocal in their support of radical abortion policies
• Democrats caved to the radical left in support of the “Abortion For All Act,” the most radical pro-abortion bill in history which would eliminate virtually all federal limits on abortion and block pro-life laws around the country.
• Most Americans want commonsense limitations on abortion.
• A majority of voters disagree with Democrats’ extreme stance on abortion, including a majority of independent voters.
• Democrats believe there is no place for pro-life voters in the Democrat Party.
• The Republican Party will always stand for life.
• Last year, the Republican House majority voted to ensure babies born alive following botched abortions receive medical care and voted to condemn violence against pro-life organizations, churches, and groups that provide services to expecting-mothers.
• This year, Republicans passed the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act, because women shouldn’t have to choose between getting their degree or carrying their baby to term.
• The pro-life movement speaks up for both lives that are at stake during an abortion – the mother and the unborn child.
• Republicans will continue to advocate for life, support women, uphold the law, and stand against an extreme Democrat Party’s pro-abortion agenda.

The bottom line:

Republicans have a winning message on abortion but we must articulate compassion and sincerity when talking about the issue. Democrats will once again try to make abortion a national issue this election. Republicans cannot ignore the issue. We must stand up for life and expose Democrats’ extreme stance.

Freeze Or Famine Under Biden

During the winter months, American families are reminded of the high cost of Biden’s war on American energy. The high cost of energy is forcing many families to make tough choices to heat their homes.

What you need to know:

• Families are suffering through yet another unaffordable winter under the Biden administration as prices remain high for the majority of Americans just trying to stay warm.
• Households relying on propane to keep warm are paying $1,345, a 15.8 percent increase from the $1,162 average paid during the winter of 2020-2021.
• Those relying on heating oil to keep warm are paying $1,701, a 40.3% increase from the $1,212 average paid during the winter of 2020-2021.
• The nearly half of homes who rely on natural gas for heat are paying $608, a 6.1% increase from the $573  average during the winter of 2020-2021.
• More and more Americans are falling behind on their utility bills – with low-income households being hit the hardest. 
• Americans have lost over $3,700 paying higher energy costs since Biden took office.
• In 2023, families were behind on $20.3 billion in utility bills, up from $17 billion pre-pandemic. 
• ​              72% of Americans say their energy bills grew over the past year as energy costs have soared at twice the rate of overall inflation.
• Over 20% of households were behind on their energy bills in 2022. 
• ​​              Nearly a third of Americans say they’ve cut back or skipped necessary expenses – such as food or medicine – just to pay an energy bill.
• U.S. average regular gas prices have been above $3 per gallon for 987 days straight.
• The only solution Biden has offered for Americans struggling to pay these high prices is to buy a $50,789 electric vehicle, which have proven to struggle in freezing temperatures.
• Biden has targeted American energy since taking office.
• Instead of looking to states like Texas, Pennsylvania, and North Dakota to ramp up U.S. energy production, Biden has continuously solicited hostile foreign nations to produce oil.

The bottom line:

Unsurprisingly, 56% of Americans are dissatisfied with the nation’s energy policies under Biden. During his first campaign Biden vowed to wage war on American energy and voters know a second term would mean more of the same. On November 5, voters will head to the polls and vote for Republicans who will restore American energy independence.
