Parent Teacher Conference Registration

On Thursday, February 29th, Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School will conduct our second-semester Parent-Teacher Conference evening. We will follow the same format utilized in the fall by offering families virtual and in-person meeting options to discuss their child's academic progress.

Virtual conferences will be held from 4:00-5:30 p.m., with in-person meetings being held from 5:30-7:00 p.m. for in-person meetings. Please note that in-person meetings will be held in teacher classrooms. Conferences will be scheduled for 15-minute increments for virtual and in-person meeting options. "Drop-ins" will be permitted from 6:30-7:00 p.m.; however, it is strongly recommended that you make an appointment to meet with specific teachers to ensure their availability on the evening of conferences.

To schedule your Parent Teacher Conference, please select the Signup Genius link as provided below. Teachers not listed on the Signup Genius will share alternate meeting dates and times with parents to schedule a mutually convenient meeting time. The conference registration window will remain open until Tuesday, February 27th.

BBHHS Transitioning as PowerSchool as Student Information System

The 2024-2025 scheduling process has begun! We are excited to start using PowerSchool, our new Student Information Management System (SIS) that will replace ProgressBook entirely starting next school year. As part of the course scheduling process for the 2024-2025 school year, BBHHS students will be the first users to begin utilizing PowerSchool to select their course requests. Students will be able to access PowerSchool starting February 20th using their district-provided Google account single-sign-on feature.

During an extended Colony period held on February 20th, our current students in grades 9-11 will receive instructions from our school counseling team about using PowerSchool, essential information about course selections, and staying on track for graduation. Step-by-step instructions for families on how to use the PowerSchool course request tools are provided here. It is important to note that parents will receive their parent access at the start of next school year and must work with their children to review their selected courses. All schedule requests are due on March 1, 2024, for all 24-25 BBHHS students.

Provided below are links to scheduling resources that will be helpful to families as we begin the scheduling process. If you still have questions after viewing the resources provided, please do not hesitate to contact your child's assigned school counselor for assistance.

SAT Day

On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 7:45 am to 11:30 am, Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School will operate with an adjusted school day to deliver the SAT and Pre-ACT. Please be aware that regularly provided school food services for breakfast and lunch and regular school transportation schedules will be adhered to. Please review the following grade level breakdown to understand best what each grade level of students will be assigned to on March 6th:

Seniors

  • Seniors are not required to attend school on March 6th.
  • Seniors are to use this time to finalize scholarship applications, complete college enrollment processes, or schedule career shadowing experiences.

Juniors and Sophomores

  • All Juniors will take the digital SAT from 7:45 am to 11:30 am.
  • All Sophomores will take the Pre-ACT from 7:45 am to 11:30 am.
  • At the conclusion of testing, students will be dismissed for the remainder of the school day.
  • Students who elect to remain on campus after testing will be supervised in the cafeteria and will work on current course assignments until 2:45 pm.
  • Please note that students with testing accommodations such as extended time will not be dismissed until 1:30 pm. There are no exceptions to this requirement as required by the College Board or the ACT.

Freshmen

  • School attendance is required for Freshmen and can be earned by attending school from 7:45-11:30 am and completing the scheduled career activities offered on campus or by completing specific and verified activities off-campus.
  • Freshmen will have the opportunity to participate in various off-campus activities that are to be independently scheduled, such as taking an initial college visit, participating in a career shadowing experience, completing community service hours, or participating in provided Naviance activities as provided by BBHHS.
  • These activities are designed to help freshmen begin preparing for college and career or to engage in service learning throughout the community.
  • Freshmen who wish to participate in the off-campus activities outlined above must complete the provided survey and provide verification of their participation by Friday, March 8th. Please do so to avoid an unexcused absence.
  • For students electing to complete the off-campus activities outlined above on this day, a parent/guardian must also call our attendance office at 440-740-4715 to report their student's absence and complete the survey.

If you have questions regarding this day, please contact Mr. Jakub via email or phone at 440-740-4710.
