"The Courage to Bless Change and Grief" | |
|
The Rev. Julie Stoneberg
In the midst of unsettling and emotionally-charged times, it can be difficult to allow change and grief to bring their gifts to us. Courage is our theme for October. What kind of courage does it take, to look hard times in the face, and to love what they have to offer?
Kaleidoscope Band will offer courageous music today.

Current Covid Risk: MEDIUM

A message from Rev. Julie
Think of interim ministry as a communal work of weaving together an evolving and creative tapestry…a tapestry containing all the threads of UU Church West’s past and future. My part is to keep you all looped into the process. Your part is to weave in the colors that represent your voice, your presence, and your vision.

Calling All Musicians!
The Music Program at UUCW is seeking musicians from the congregation who would be interested in sharing their talents by providing music for Sunday services. Maybe you are a high school student preparing a solo for a contest or talent show. Maybe you're a retired person who has recently picked up their old instrument or resumed singing again. Whatever your musical story, please share it with Music Director Ruben Piirainen who is interested in helping you to find a great opportunity for musical expression at UUCW.

Sunday morning Religious Education classes for children
and youth have begun –
but it’s never too late to take part!
"I teach RE because I believe the children are our future (cue song!) and that their minds blossom when guided with love to consider large questions about the world. I like to think that I can be some small part in all of that, and in shaping my own future as our children rise to their potential as global participants. My children enjoy the activities each week and being part of a bigger conversation."

"The Age of Anxiety:
Addressing the Dominant Mental Malady of Our Time"
| |
|
Guest Speaker:
Philip Chard, MS, LCSW, NLP
Worship Leader: Steve Frey
Anxiety is the most widespread mental health challenge worldwide, affecting virtually all ethnic and age groups. In recent years, this condition has steadily increased, spurred in part by growing uncertainty over the state of our nation, the geopolitical world, and our planet. We will examine what fuels anxiety, how it manifests in mind, body, and spirit, and what we can do to address it.
