Eileen Weiss - Celebrating 15 Years of Service
A Fitting Tribute to a Remarkable Career
Last night, community members and friends of LUM gathered to celebrate the remarkable career of Eileen Hession Weiss at Lafayette Urban Ministry.

After 15 years at LUM, most recently as the Business Manager, Eileen has decided to move on and dedicate her time and talent to her family, the City of Lafayette as a member of the City Council, and the many faith and community organizations, with which she is involved.

The celebration was well attended and a fitting tribute to Eileen honoring her tremendous positive impact on the community to the betterment of local families and children. Wes Tillett, LUM executive director, emceed the event at First Christian Church (Lafayette), which included presentations by Indiana State Representative Sheila Klinker and City of Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski (pictured). A choir of some of the most talented vocalists also performed some of Eileen's favorites. Of course, the choir was directed by the honoree, Eileen Weiss, and was the highlight of the celebration.

Join in thanking and congratulating Eileen Weiss with wishes for continued success and happiness. In lieu of gifts, Eileen has requested a personal note or card and a tribute donation to Lafayette Urban Ministry. To make a tribute donation in honor of

$50,000 for 50 Years - Anniversary Campaign
Benefits Families Through the Good Samarian Fund
The LUM 50th Anniversary Celebration continues with the goal of raising at least $50,000 — representing $1,000 per year — for the LUM Good Samaritan Fund.

As of today, 90% or $45,172 has been raised toward the $50,000 goal announced at the LUM 50th Anniversary Celebration event in April.

Please join the celebration, help LUM reach this goal, and honor LUM’s 50 years of service to our community. To make an online donation, go to LUMserve.org/donate-online.
The LUM Good Samaritan Fund provides local individuals, families and children with a financial safety net when in crisis – and is not used for any administrative expenses. No operating expenses are taken out of the Good Samaritan Fund — 100% of all donations go to help those in need. So far in 2022, the LUM Financial Assistance Program has had 1,544 requests for housing, utility and health-care, disbursing $102,247 of assistance from the LUM Good Samaritan Fund.
IU Health & Central Catholic Engage with LUM
LUM Service Days - Healthy Shelter Initiative
As a part of the LUM Healthy Shelter Initiative, each month a group of volunteers are recruited to “deep clean” the LUM Emergency Shelter as well as the rest of the Ray Ewry Center facility and grounds.

On two separate dates recently, the eighth-grade students from Central Catholic Jr./Sr. High School and staff from IU Health participated in a LUM Service Day at the LUM Ray Ewry Center. Both groups deep cleaned the LUM Ray Ewry Center, home of the LUM Emergency Shelter and Youth Programs. The Central Catholic students also prepared a meal for the LUM Emergency Shelter.

LUM is grateful for each business, church, and school group whose members take the time to volunteer at LUM. Special thanks to Central Catholic Jr./Sr. High School and IU Health for their support of LUM. If your organization or business would like to volunteer with LUM, please visit the LUM website or email or call Terri Anderson, LUM Volunteer Coordinator (volunteer@LUMserve.org | 765-423-2691).
