August 2024

Our Mission is to Serve and Equip our Churches to Fulfill the Great Commission

EVERYONE is invited to the events of our newly formatted

ANNUAL MEETING on SUNDAY, AUGUST 18th.

We will kick-off the meeting at 4:00pm with our business session. Each SYBA member church should have received a packet in the mail which contained three messenger cards. Although everyone is invited to attend the business meeting, only the three chosen messengers from each member church are allowed to vote.

The business session will consists of:

  1. Voting on new SYBA Board Member candidates Grant Stanley (Music Director of Trinity Baptist) and Leslie Kusek (Community Life Ministry Director of Watermark). Both will be a great addition to the SYBA Board.
  2. Voting on the sale of SYBA property located at 3295 Harmony Hwy, Harmony to Victory Miracle Center, which has outgrown its currently leased space. Pastor Clyde Parks of Victory Miracle Center is actively involved in Harmony and serves on the Board at both Harmony Hill Camp Meeting and Matthew 25 Ministries. The SYBA Board has been praying that the SYBA Harmony property would be used for God's glory and are thankful to God for providing this opportunity to both the SYBA and Victory Miracle Center. For more information about Victory Miracle Center go to https://www.facebook.com/vmcchurch
  3. Approval of the SYBA 2024/2025 budget. Thank you for supporting the work God is doing through the SYBA with your gifts and prayers.
  4. Community Ministry Report given by Jaime Tang, our Community Ministry Coordinator. Jaime will share about all the exciting things that are happening through our SYBA community ministries.

At 5:00pm a light dinner and dessert will be served while we all have the opportunity to fellowship and talk with our ministry partners at our annual mission fair. Come see how God is moving and find out how you and your church can get involved in these ministries.

At 6:00pm our celebration service will begin. Gordon McComb and the Fairview Worship Choir will be leading us in worship. Lynn Hardaway, Church Health Missionary of the Bridge Network of Churches of Norfolk, Virginia, will be sharing God’s Word with us. Lynn’s passion in ministry is to encourage pastors and churches in their efforts to fulfill the Great Commission in the midst of a changing culture. I will share my Executive Director report and we will take up an offering for the SYBA Crisis Ministry which benefits the SYBA Food Pantry.

Come and be a part of the 151st annual meeting of the SYBA where we will be celebrating the past, embracing the present, and looking forward to the future!

Mobilize to Share Christ's Love

If you completed a ServeNC Project this year, please take a quick moment to submit your projects on this form.

The North Carolina Missions Offering (NCMO) is how NC Baptist churches support Disaster Relief, mobile dental and health screening buses, partnership missions across the country and around the world, or mission camps and rebuild centers across the state. The entire regular budget of Baptists on Mission (BOM) comes from the NCMO, not Cooperative Program (CP) funds.

Churches: Please consider collecting The NC Missions Offering in September by special offering or putting NCMO in your church budget.
