ROOSEVELT ROUNDUP
Special Education Volunteer Opportunities
We are looking forward to helping our Special Education parents and educators make the most of this upcoming 2022-2023 school year.

To that end, attached is our latest SpEd Committee flyer, with donation form for our annual scholarship awards to eligible high school seniors and a brief description of who we are.

This school year, we are also excited to bring back (by popular demand) our Annual Awareness Expo and our Kindred Spirits parent outreach program. To make both programs a success, we are looking for help from our SpEd subscribers.

Specifically, we are seeking volunteers to fill a newly created Outreach Liaison position and to staff two newly created subcommittees:

1) Outreach Liaison - We are looking for one Outreach Liaison, who will oversee the Parent Outreach Subcommittee and help connect interested parents with their School SpEd Reps and with “Kindred Spirits” volunteers.

2) Annual Awareness Expo Subcommittee - We are looking for several volunteers to join our Annual Awareness Expo Subcommittee, to help plan Expo programming and logistics.

3) Parent Outreach Subcommittee - We are looking for several parents to join our Parent Outreach Subcommittee, to serve as “Kindred Spirits” who will connect with interested parents who might have questions pertinent to the particular volunteer parent’s experience or interest.

If you are interested in these volunteer opportunities, please reach out to us at WestfieldSpecialEdParents@gmail.com or Click here.
Ways to Support RIS PTO
You can raise money for RIS in three easy ways:

1) Use Amazon Smile: Planning to shop at Amazon throughout the year? Help RIS earn cash rewards through the Amazon Smile program every time you order from Amazon. Registering will only take a minute and will make a huge difference to our school.

You shop. Amazon gives.

  • Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charitable organization of your choice.
  • AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know. Same products, same prices, same service.
  • Support RIS by starting your shopping at AmazonSmile RIS. Enter your existing Amazon user name and password.
  • If you're already supporting an organization through AmazonSmile, consider supporting Roosevelt by changing your charity in "Your Account" settings.

To support RIS, always shop at smile.amazon.com
Remember, only purchases at smile.amazon.com, (not www.amazon.com or the mobile app) support charity.

2) Submit BoxTops: All you need is your phone.

Make a difference for Roosevelt Intermediate School every time you shop. The BoxTops program is an easy way to earn extra money for school programs.

  • Download the Box Tops mobile app (Apple or Android) by clicking here.
  • Shop as you normally would.
  • Simply scan your store receipt within14 days (grocery store, Target, etc) every time you shop. Box Tops will automatically credit cash from participating products to our Roosevelt account.

3) Order cards: The Roosevelt PTSO also has a fundraiser with Minted!

Use the following code on Minted orders to receive a 20% discount and 15% will be donated to the RIS PTSO:
