Pop out a Teams window for more control

Tip #1:

Pop out

CHAT

window

Opening a one-on-one or group chat into a separate window is a good way to get more done. Then, resize, reposition, or close the window if you want to.

Note: You can open multiple conversations in new windows, but not the same chat twice.

Hover over a chat to see the Open chat in new window icon. Select it to open a new chat window.

When hosting a meeting, pop out the window so you can see the window AND controls, which is helpful when sharing the screen.

To have meetings open in separate windows, go to Settings > General, and make sure that the Open new chat in New window setting is enabled.
