UWSAW Is Thankful For You!

The UWSAW office will be closed Wednesday, November 22 through Friday, November 24 for the Thanksgiving holiday. We hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving Day.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Teens That Help is collecting food donations to make Thanksgiving baskets for those in need this holiday season.

Items will be collected until November 19 and can be dropped off at Kate Collins Middle School. Donations can also be picked up.

Traveling Coat Closet

The Neighbor Bridge will have a Traveling Coat Closet, November 27 through December 1, at Central Shenandoah Valley Office on Youth (413 Port Republic Road, Waynesboro). For more information, visit https://www.theneighborbridge.org/.

CAPSAW: Community Needs Assessment

Community Action Partnership of Staunton, Augusta and Waynesboro (CAPSAW) needs your help! The Community Needs Assessment is the process by which residents, stakeholder organizations, and the CAPSAW Board of Directors work collaboratively to identify the areas of highest need and pursue meaningful strategies to address them. Responses will help CAPSAW better understand the resources and needs of the Staunton, Augusta County, and Waynesboro region. The survey will be open until January 5th. The survey can be accessed in English, Spanish, and Arabic here:

The survey should take about 12 minutes to complete. At the end of the survey, you will have the opportunity to provide information to be entered into a drawing to win one of six $50 gift cards. This contact information will NOT be tied to responses or shared with any individual or group.

UWSAW Out & About

Kristi was on a panel with other nonprofit leaders during a Leadership Greater Augusta class on October 12. The panel talked about their organizations and answered questions.

We celebrated Maria's birthday on October 13. Here's to a happy and healthy year for her!

Deirdre attended a Park Properties Management meeting on October 18 and presented on ways to become involved with UWSAW.

Jessica hosted a table during the Augusta County Preschool Fall Fairs on October 17 and 19. Her daughter volunteered with her to help the kiddos make a fun craft.

UWSAW partnered with Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge, Augusta Health, and CAPSAW for the Halloween Nonprofit Mixer on October 24.

Kristi attended the Staunton-Augusta Rotary Club meeting on November 8. She presented on ALICE in the SAW community.
