PANOW Staff Appointed to Health Insurance Marketplace Advisory Committee

Maya Litauer Chan, Project Access NOW's Program Manager of Insurance Enrollment and Payment Support, was recently appointed to the State of Oregon's Health Insurance Marketplace Advisory Committee for a two-year term.

The committee advises the Oregon Health Insurance Marketplace (OHIM) and the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) on matters regarding administration of the health insurance exchange including, but not limited to, affordability and outreach to low-income and BIPOC communities.

Another Open Enrollment Successfully Complete

Our Insurance Enrollment and Payment Support team just completed a marathon - 11 weeks of offering insurance enrollment support during Open Enrollment to members of our community virtually, over the phone, and in-person. During this time, the team completed a total of 284 applications and 1,952 total navigations. Additionally, in January 2024, PANOW was able to pay 554 insurance premiums for those making too much to qualify for Medicaid but too little to afford a private insurance plan.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our end-of-year campaign!

During a challenging year, we are proud that our community united and raised almost $18,000. These funds, most of which were donated in small increments of $10-$25, will go back into the community to ensure health equity in the Portland metro.
