Polestar Village Community Center Elevation Plans

"Kindness is the light that dissolves all walls between souls, families and nations."

-Paramhansa Yogananda

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Fort Collins! It's been quite a winter and we are ready for Spring renewal, just around the corner.

Our last Community Circle zoom included a brief introduction to sociocracy from Ted Rau of Sociacracy for All. Decision making and governance in community, often a huge stumbling block, is a priceless opportunity to more deeply understand ourselves, and become much more conscious of our intentions, values, and effects on others.

In this issue you will find inspiration and information about community governance, a look at spring events, and an update on the Polestar planning process.

In Divine Friendship,

Your friends at Polestar

Polestar Village Update

One could say that the approval process for new developments in the city of Fort Collins involves stress in the same way that the ocean involves water! We are swimming for all we're worth and making progress though only very slowly these past few months. Our current goal is to have our public hearing in June, hopefully with clear sailing after that.

We continue to meet many like-minded souls who 'see' and understand our vision of community. Currently we are seeking a bridge loan for the adjacent parcels and continue to have a steady stream of interest in our 'peer to peer' lending program. If you, or if you know of anyone who would like to lend or invest, please contact us soon!

You can find February's Community Circle below, which featured Ted Rau, a Sociocracy coach and co-founder of Sociocracy For All. He gave a wonderful overview of this model of cooperation and inclusion. If you'd like to learn more, he will be in Denver this month to lead a workshop, "Collaborate with Confidence."

Polestar has flourished for over 20 years due to the incredible generosity of its volunteers and donors. We are now launching an easier, more automated method of contributing through "Donorbox" where you can make monthly, annual, or one-time donations. Our initial goal is to raise $5,000 per month to support Polestar's ongoing expansion and services. Please join us in building community together!
