Gillian Brown

Executive Managing Director Capital Markets, Ontario Teachers Pension Plan


Gillian Brown leads the Capital Markets group, which manages Total Fund exposure to the equity, fixed income, credit, inflation-sensitive and absolute return asset classes. The Capital Markets team supports all of Ontario Teachers' investment groups and is responsible for executing on a centralized trade strategy that allows the Fund to focus on the needs of today's more sophisticated trading environment and its increasing regulatory complexity. Since joining Ontario Teachers' in 1995, Gillian has held progressively senior roles; she was most recently the Managing Director, Credit, Insurance Linked Securities, Equity Products in our Capital Markets team, and prior to that she was the Director of Derivative Strategies and Trading within the Tactical Asset Allocation and Natural Resources department. Gillian has more than 20 years of industry experience in equity and derivatives investment management. She holds a B.Comm. from McGill University and is a CFA charterholder.


Elizabeth Cloutier

President and CFO, Single Family Multi-Generational Office


Elizabeth is the President and Chief Operating Officer of a Toronto based multi-generation Single Family Office. In addition, Elizabeth is the President and UDP of the family’s registered portfolio management company. Elizabeth is responsible for all wealth management and administrative services delivered through the family office. In addition, serving as a key senior advisor to all family members for the past 27 years, Elizabeth is responsible for identifying, developing and delivering best practices and governance for these companies and managing generational transition. Elizabeth joined the family office after a 10 year position in KPMG LLP’s assurance practice, the last three years of which were seconded to Geneva, Switzerland to assume a senior management role for KPMG’s international assurance clients. The earlier years were spent servicing clients from KPMG’s Private Client Group which provided many insights to the world of owner managed businesses and their often complex and unique issues.


Tracy Creelman

Head of Talent Acquisition, CPP Investments


Tracy leads the Talent Acquisition team responsible for sourcing top talent for CPP Investments offices globally. Tracy has more than 20 years of talent acquisition experience. Prior to joining CPP Investments, she held various roles within the Human Resources function at KPMG, including leading hiring teams, employee brand, and talent-acquisition operations. Before that, Tracy spent more than a decade at search firms, and started her career in Structured and Trade Finance at CIBC. Tracy holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, as well as a BA in International Relations from the University of Toronto.


Denisa Farrow

Vice President, Investment Counsellor, Guardian Partners


Denisa Farrow is Vice President, Investment Counsellor at Guardian Partners Inc. She works directly with clients to address their investment and wealth management needs, assisting with portfolio strategy design and implementation, investment manager recommendations and continuous portfolio oversight. Prior to this, Denisa held the same role at BNY Mellon Wealth Management, Advisory Services, which she joined in 2012, and has over 24 years of industry and pension investment consulting experience. In that time, her roles have been focused on developing and implementing investment strategies for high net worth clients as well as institutional clients, including defined benefit and contribution pension plans, endowment funds and charitable organizations. Denisa earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Western Ontario. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business, with a focus on investment finance. She is a CFA® Charterholder and a member of the Toronto CFA Society.


Serena McDonnel

Lead Data Scientiest, Delphia


Serena is a machine learning researcher, engineer, and community builder, and comes from a multidisciplinary background. Passionate about knowledge sharing and continuous learning, Serena co-hosts Deep Random Talks, a podcast which focusses on machine learning, product development, and knowledge management. She is an organizer of AI Socratic Circles (AISC), a highly technical machine learning reading group for industry professionals. As part of AISC, Serena leads a research group that focusses on applying natural language processing and representation learning to recommender systems. Serena holds an M.Sc. in Mathematics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and a B.S.c. in Mathematics and Biology from McGill University.
