Mites

On December 21st, the Mites wrapped up the first of two 8-week sessions. They celebrated with a scrimmage, and all 38 players were awarded a certificate of completion!

On January 3rd, the Mites began their second 8-week session and will compete in 3 traveling tournaments in 2024.

Jr and Sr Mites competed in their first tournament of the season, the Lewiston Clearwater Classic (January 5-7). Seniors took home second place!

Squirts

The Squirts played hard in Sun Valley at the beginning of January and then took first place in Lewiston! Next up is their Home Tournament on February 9-11!

PeeWees

Peewee B team traveled to the Spokane Winterfest in early December and ended up with the gold! They played tough at the Boise Winter Classic later in the month and ended up 2 and 3. They took second in Sun Valley this past weekend!!.

The Peewee A team also took the gold at the Gold Medal Classic in Provo in early December! The team placed second in Sun Valley this weekend.

Bantam

McCall Bantams joined Sun Valley B in Bozeman and took second place this past weekend!

High School

The High School Vandals won in MIssoula by a landslide (B division). They were placed in the A Division in Idaho Falls, as a result. Although, they did not place in the top three, all their games were close scores. Vandals then won their Home Tournament this past weekend, in a nail-biting game against the Moscow Bears. Go Vandals!

Good Luck to all teams!!!

USA Hockey on Track to Require Neck Guards for all Youth Hockey Players

USA Hockey Issued this Statement on Saturday, November 11, 2023

TO: USA Hockey Members

SUBJECT: Board of Directors Action

At its meeting today, the USA Hockey Board of Directors unanimously voted to request the USA Hockey Safety and Protective Equipment Committee begin the process of recommending potential rule changes regarding neck laceration protection. The intention of this effort is to advance solutions that best serve all of our members.

Any potential rule change proposal(s) could be addressed as early as

USA Hockey's Winter Meeting in January.

USA Hockey continues to recommend that all players wear a neck laceration protector that covers as much of the neck area as possible, in addition to cut-resistant socks, sleeves or undergarments.
