The new school year is just around the corner as August 12th marks the first day of school for many students and families in Clark County and Washoe County. The preparation period is in full swing! Educators and school staff are getting ready to welcome eager students, and parents are gathering school supplies to ensure their children have the best start to the new school year.

Excitement is in the air as we look forward to the 26th Annual Art of Childhood fundraising gala on August 16th at Rancharrah. If you are not attending the event in person, you can still support us by buying tickets for the Scheels Raffle online until August 9th and participating in online bidding for silent auction items starting August 14th.

At the event, we are looking forward to honoring Cindy L. Carano with the esteemed Dixie D. May Philanthropy Award for the difference she makes at The Children's Cabinet and many other local organizations. Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

The Children's Cabinet offers Youth Mental Health First Aid training designed to teach parents, mentors, teachers, coaches, and other caring adults how to help adolescents who are experiencing mental health, addiction, or are in crisis. Be part of the solution! This free, one-day training is available to any adult.

At times, all parents feel lost or without a clue about what their child might need from them. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. For parents and caregivers of children 4 months - 6 years, The Circle of Security Parenting program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.
