The Faith of a Queen

I have enjoyed watching the stately grace surrounding the services and remembrances for Queen Elizabeth. No one does ceremony better than the British. Throughout all the services a recurring theme has been the deep faith of the Queen. In her Christmas message of 2014, she said:

"For me, the life of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, whose birth we celebrate today, is an inspiration and an anchor in my life. A role model of reconciliation and forgiveness, he stretched out his hands in love, acceptance, and healing. Christ's example has taught me to seek to respect and value all people of whatever faith or none."

I believe these words provide a challenge for us. Is Jesus the inspiration and anchor of your life? Does following him inspire you to love, acceptance, healing, and respect for all people? Let us follow the Queen’s example and give our allegiance to Jesus Christ. Thanks be to God!
