“Lord, I want to be in that number, When the Saints Go Marchin’ In!”

As we celebrate our 28th Anniversary, SunCoast MCC, we explore a favorite song rooted in the African American community in New Orleans, a hymn most often played at funerals, and with a jazz band!

We hear the story of Elijah’s journey to heaven, and Jesus, with Moses and Elijah on the Mount of Transfiguration.

Join us for church and good food!

Let your feet start to tap for a Sunday full of saints, mentors, heroes, as we express our desire to one day “be in that number... “

Please join Rev. Nancy and Rev. Rick on Sunday, March 26, 2023 immediately after Worship in the Library to learn about SunCoast MCC and the denomination.

Please register using the link below or by signing up on the form in the Church Lobby.

A light lunch will be served by Chef Peter!

This is a wonderful time of fellowship and getting to know SunCoast!

Lent and Easter at SunCoast

This year our theme for Lent and Easter at SunCoast MCC is :

"Jesus and the Outsiders, Outcasts and Outlaws” based on the book by Adam Hamilton, a Progressive Methodist pastor.

We will wander through Luke’s account of Jesus’s life, and we will come to appreciate in a deeper way Jesus’ tendency to have “friends in low places.”

In our worship on Ash Wednesday, Sundays in Lent, Good Friday and Easter, we will be blessed by the stories of the characters in Jesus ministry, whom he touched, healed, blessed and from whom he learned.

Grow with us this season!

JESUS AND THE OUTSIDERS, OUTCASTS AND OUTLAWS

“friends in low places.”

We will be marked with ash, be reminded of our mortality, and know that from dust we came and to dust we shall return. It is time to ponder and expand our relationship. Where will you meet God? Will you meet God with friends in low places or friends in high places?

With a focus on our own mortality and imperfections, Christians can enter into the Lent season solemnly while also looking forward in greater anticipation and joy to the message of Easter and Christ’s ultimate victory over sin and death.

Ways to gather during Lent

Sundays, February 26 through March 26th - Each Sunday we will explore the outsiders, outcasts and outlaws that Jesus loved, redeemed and called.

Seeking Easter Musicians for our SunCoast MCC Choir and Drummers!

Dr. David and our musicians are looking for those who would enjoy a seasonal experience with our choir and church drummers. We need your voice and hands!

We have a joyful time Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings – of music and fellowship!  Please give us a try at 6:00 PM Wednesdays as we drum together, and at 6:30 PM for choir rehearsal.

We will begin Wednesday, March 1, 2023 to rehearse for the Easter season, through Easter Sunday April 9th. Feel free to speak to Dr. David, or any member of our musical groups about participating or just show up on Wednesdays!

On March 5, 2023, the month of Transgender Visibility, Church of the Trinity MCC will be dedicating a Transgender Memorial Garden at 3pm. This is only the second Transgender Memorial Garden in the country to be created and dedicated in memory of those transgender siblings who have been lost because of hate and neglect.

The dedication will take place on the campus of Church of the Trinity MCC where a variety of faith traditions and organizations will take part in dedicating the garden. It will be open to the public to remember those transgender siblings we have lost to hate crimes . . . the ones whose names we know and the thousands more that we do not know.

Stones will be painted by ALSO Youth and placed around the tree in memory of those we have lost in 2022. After November 20th, stones will be available at the garden for anyone to paint or write on in memory of transgender or gender non-conforming people who have been lost because of hate or neglect.

The garden will feature pink and blue flowers and a plaque that reads, "They tried to bury us, they did not know we were seeds." (Dinos Christianopoulos)

God is our refuge and strength."
