As we begin the fall semester, it is a pleasure to welcome students, faculty, and friends of Bowdoin back to campus. We offer special greetings to members of the Class of 2026! In this issue, we are excited to introduce you to our new colleague, Sean Kramer, who joins us from the University of Michigan to become the Museum’s next Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Curatorial Fellow. We also share a "Summer Intern Roundup,” providing information about the contributions of our student interns to numerous projects at the Museum. A broad range of virtual student and faculty projects involving the BCMA’s collection is now available through BCMA Labs, which has just launched online, as you will learn from an overview of this new resource. Finally, we share the perspective of Ingrid Astley ’24 on a pastel by Lois Dodd. The new semester opens at the Museum with a broad range of programming by scholars and artists shedding light on each of our current exhibitions. Please join us for the special presentations illuminating our current—and soon-to-open—exhibitions!

We look forward to seeing you in the galleries!
