Frosty greetings from a snowed in and iced up Backshop!
I am sending this update to communicate with everyone, at least those who bought a ticket for this train, at one time. I am receiving many calls and emails about order statuses and this is the most efficient way to address the matter.
Please note that all orders received after 12 pm, January 12, 2024 are delayed in shipping due to the extreme weather conditions affecting North Alabama.
The offices of the United States Post Service were scheduled to be closed on January 15, 2024 in observance of the Martin Luther King holiday. North Alabama was hit with a severe ice storm on this date that resulted in closure of all roads and businesses in the region as well as a State of Emergency Proclamation by Governor Kay Ivey.
All local post offices have remained closed with no drop-off, pick-up or delivery services in the area on January, 16, 17, or 18 due to the extremely dangerous conditions. This round of inclement weather has affected many parts of the nation in a similar manner.
Based on the current weather forecast, I do not expect the USPS to be open on January 19 or 20, 2024. Based on the same forecast, I do expect the situation to clear up and services to return to normal on or about Monday, January 22, 2024.
If you placed an order during this timeframe and you have received a tracking number by email, your order has been successfully processed and will be tendered to the USPS for shipping at the first possible opportunity.
Please note your tracking number will show the status Pre-Shipment as shown here. That status will not change until I am physically able to tender the package to the USPS.
