A Message from Pastor Sara
As you may have seen on social media I was away this week for some R&R. That is (w)Riting and Renewal. I spent some time at a pastor friend’s cabin and took time away from the daily stresses and schedule of life. This time away gave me time to finalize writing our Lenten Series and I am very excited about it! This year’s theme is Faith Practices: This or That?
Each week we will be given two options of faith practices and you will have the opportunity to choose one. One that feels comfortable to you or one that you want to stretch yourself. One that seems like what you would naturally do or one that is opposite of you. One that is familiar or one that is new. This or that? You decide. It will be a faith practices choose your own adventure so to speak. We start soon, next week is Ash Wednesday (wasn’t it just Christmas? HA!) and then we will move to Tuesdays with a family friendly meal and then have worship onsite or online via Youtube. Here are the themes for each week, please join me:
Wednesday 2/22 at 7 pm: Ash Wednesday: Marked with the Cross
Tuesday 2/28: Lament or Encouragement: Literary Styles in the Bible
Tuesday 3/7: Silent or Spoken: Styles of Prayer
Tuesday 3/14: Tradition or Innovation: Proclaiming our Faith with Creeds
Tuesday 3/21: Writing or Speaking: Sharing our Fears to Create Change
Tuesday 3/28: Direct Support or Policy Change: God’s Work Our Hands
Thursday 4/6: Maundy Thursday
Friday 4/7: Good Friday
God's Peace,
Pastor Sara

PRAYERS
Called together to follow Jesus, we pray for the church, the world, and all in need.
EMBOLDEN your church as it witnesses to the majesty and mercy of your Son. Equip lay preachers, deacons, and pastors. Move us to share our stories of your faithfulness and forgiveness; may our lives proclaim your greatness.
DWELL with your whole creation, from the tallest mountain peak to the deepest valleys. Bless the work of conservation organizations and protect vital habitats like the Chesapeake Bay. Support the work of disaster relief agencies around the world.
GUIDE and give wisdom to all in authority: Steuart Pittman and local leaders, our governor West Moore and state legislators, our president Joe Biden and national legislators. Bring freedom and justice to all nations.
GIVE shelter to those lacking safe homes. Spur communities to work for fair housing for all. Protect our neighbors whose dwellings do not keep out dangerous cold or heat; accompany with your touch those who are homebound, sick, or isolated.
MAKE us eager to receive your Word in scripture. Help us recognize Jesus' voice in the needs of our neighbors; make us confident to follow the way of the cross.
We bring to you our unique needs and hopes now, O God, trusting your wisdom and power revealed in Christ crucified.
HEAR OUR PRAYERS FOR:
..Prayers of thanksgiving as James has earned 1 year chip.
...Prayers of healing dealing with Covid
Prayers from the Joy Thrift Prayer Wall:
...Prayers that those in need can find us easily and get the items needed to support them and their families.
To have your prayer included in this list, please add it to the mobile app or contact the church office.
