This Weekend in Worship

In the reading from Isaiah God uses the Gentile ruler Cyrus to accomplish divine purposes. When the Pharisees try to trap Jesus, he tells them to give the emperor what belongs to him and to God what belongs to God. To gather for worship reminds us that our ultimate allegiance is to God rather than to any earthly authority. Created in the image of God, we offer our entire selves in the service of God and for the sake of the world.

Be the Light All Saints Celebration

November 4 & 5

Join the celebration on November 4 & 5 as we give God thanks for the Light of Christ and all the ways we reflect Christ’s light in the world. The weekend includes All Saints festival worship on Saturday and Sunday, celebrating All the Saints, presentation of intent for financial gifts to Faith Lutheran in 2024, and brunch on Sunday at 9:30 am. To learn more and to sign up to help with the brunch, visit faithlc.org/bethelight.

All Saints Weekend Worship

As we gather for worship on All Saints weekend, we celebrate the communion of the saints: a diverse array of witnesses who remind us of God's continuing faithfulness--past, present, and future. We will remember and give thanks for all the saints of Faith Lutheran Church who have died this past year.

Bring a Photo and Light a Candle

As you enter the worship space that weekend, you are welcome to approach the altar area and light a candle in memory of a beloved saint in your life that has died. We light candles in their memory as a symbol of their baptismal candles and a reminder that they are alive in Christ. You are also welcome to bring a photo of your loved one to place around the baptismal font in the Commons, celebrating the great cloud of witnesses in our midst.

Stewards of Our Resources

Be The Light in Our Giving serves as our stewardship emphasis this fall. You are invited to enter into a time of spiritual discernment and consider your generosity to financially support God's mission through the ministries of Faith. Intent Cards have been mailed to the homes of members and are also available in the Welcome Center. On November 4 & 5, the Faith community is invited to place Intent Cards on the altar during the Offering in worship.

Pledge Online

If you'd like to make your pledge online instead, click here to enter your pledge amount. Once you've completed your pledge, you'll be able to set up recurring giving online. Note: entering your pledge does not automatically change your online giving amount for 2024. Contact Erik at office@faithlc.org if you have questions.

Keep Connected with Realm

November 8-19

Faith Lutheran’s online photo directory and financial giving portal is called Realm. This powerful resource helps you keep connected with your faith community when you’re away from church. Fall is a great time of year to log into your Realm account and make sure your contact information and 2023 giving are accurate. If you’d like help with Realm, bring your device (laptop, tablet, phone) to Faith Night or worship on November 8-19 to visit with a member of Faith who can help you get the most out of Realm.

The Luther Room

The next time you're at church, you will notice that the Children, Youth & Family Ministry Center (CYFMC) has moved to Room 207 on the north end of St. Michael's Hall. The former CYFMC is now known as the Luther Room. This is a multi-functional place where people can gather for meetings, a contemplative space, small group gatherings, and a place of respite. There is still some work to be done in this space. In the coming weeks, the artwork, writings, and images in this room will remind us of Martin Luther's witness. Click here and scroll down to learn more about the Luther Room. Contact Erik Ullestad at office@faithlc.org if you'd like to reserve the Luther Room for your next meeting.

Israel-Hamas War

In response to the Hamas attacks in southern Israel on Oct. 7 and Israel's declaration of war against Hamas, including the ongoing siege of Gaza, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) offers statements from some of our Lutheran and global partners in the region. Included are ELCA resources for a deeper understanding of the context, the humanitarian crises of the current war, and the ELCA's work for a just peace in Palestine and Israel.
